This role is to actually develop and manage new brands and product portfolios as we enter into new adjacent categories- domestically and globally.   • This opportunity is eligible for remote work at the discretion of the hiring manager and applicant qualifications. 

  • This position requires the ability to travel to our Muscatine, Iowa headquarters in a single day and on short notice.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Strategic Planning: Own and deliver the annual operating plans with keen focus on expansion into adjacent categories. Lead the development of brand strategy, partnering with internal and external stakeholders including agencies to deliver breakthrough consumer initiatives and customer programs.


  • Innovation: Partner with Consumer Insights and Innovation to identify consumer needs and build a short- and long-term innovation pipeline to fuel the brands


  • Business Insights: Continuously monitor, analyze, and report consumer, competitive, category, customer, and channel activities to uncover insights that lead to actionable opportunities for the business.


  • Business Management: Responsible for the management and delivery of the brand(s) P&L and annual budgets partnering with cross functional teams (Sales, Finance, Operations, etc.). Set SMART short and long term goals for the business and lead initiatives to achieve them.


  • Brand Management: partner with the advertising agency to develop and deploy Integrated Marketing and communication campaigns.


  • Communication: Maintain constant and concise communication with Sales and Operations as it relates to ongoing projects and programs. Develop communications for upper management pertaining to marketing updates, budget recaps, and program evaluations. Develop presentations for key internal and external meetings.


  • Stewardship: Be an ongoing ambassador for the Company and its brands. Consistently support Company values.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:


  • 5 or more years of traditional brand management / Marketing experience within CPG industry (Pet Care Industry desirable but not required).

  • Budget Planning and project management experience.

  • Product development and commercialization experience.

  • Strong writing, presentation, and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience managing agency partner relationships, or equivalent relevant experience.

  • Proficient computer skills including E-Mail, Spreadsheets, Word, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Self-motivated with the ability, and initiative, to actively learn and adapt in a growing organization.

  • Ability to be flexible and work in a fast paced, mid-size company environment; including multi-tasking, prioritizing multiple projects, and resource allocation.

EDUCATION:


  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field; MBA preferred.

TRAVEL:


  • +/- 25%; attendance at evening and weekend work events, may be required
