Position Summary

The Maintenance Reliability Engineer is responsible for oversight of the Maintenance Department Mechanical Integrity Program and for leading the department in increasing overall equipment reliability.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has supervisory responsibilities and oversight for multiple outside contractors utilized within the facility.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Oversee the Maintenance Department Mechanical Integrity (MI) Program
  
  
  
  • Develop and update the MI Program SOP’s.
  
  
  • Be familiar with and satisfy the MI regulatory requirements or guidelines of all applicable agencies.  These will include, but not be limited to EPA, IDNR, FDA, and OSHA (PSM).
  
  
  • Be proficient in applicable RAGAGEP’s such as API and AMSE.
  
  
  
  


• Lead the development and updates of mechanical repair and preventive maintenance procedures.


• Lead the Maintenance Department’s reliability improvement efforts.
  
  
  
  • Oversee and optimize the vibration monitoring program.
  
  
  • Oversee and optimize the lubrication monitoring program.
  
  
  • Periodically evaluate the high cost and high frequency mechanical failures and implement corrective actions to reduce their cost and frequency.
  
  
  • Identify and implement additional opportunities for utilization of preventative and predictive maintenance practices that will benefit the company.
  
  
  
  


• Handle, oversee and attend to other special assignments as requested.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience required.  

Experience & Qualifications

5-10 years facilities maintenance experience required.  

Experience managing a varied workforce and overseeing contractors is desired.

Travel 

Less than 10%

Regular and timely attendance is required.

Must be available after traditional working hours and days as needed.
