Description: Our client is currently seeking a Director of Operations
The purpose of this position is to achieve continuous improvements in the areas of safety, efficiency, quality, customer service and leadership so as to deliver financial profitability for the plant.
Must have strong TPM and Reliability Engineering experience
This job will have the following responsibilities:
Management of fresh prepared foods manufacturing facility in a dynamic, cost sensitive market with short lead-times, customer-specific requirements and complex regulatory requirements.
Enables long-term growth vision by planning and executing strategies to maximize equipment and skills.
Drives people performance through skills development, engagement and a culture of coaching and mentoring.
Manages operating costs within functional areas; is proactive in intervening and finding solutions to operational and labor over run.
Oversees plant management team on labor issues including safety, security, employee relations, scheduling, training, etc.
Responsible for all aspects of operations and achieving key performance measurements related to personnel safety, quality and food safety, service, and cost, while continually improving process reliability and performance.
Takes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy.
Acts as the Safety Champion ensuring all Health and Safety programs and standards are met in the facility
Responsible for all manufacturing overhead and direct labor costs in the P&L related to Production, maintenance and others as assigned.
Works close with the General manger to drive towards Operational and Manufacturing excellence and overall business strategy Participates in the development of operational budgets, as well as an annual plan to address capital expenditures.
Manages budget and controls expenses effectively. Actively participates in plant engineering projects and conducts feasibility studies regarding plant operations, equipment, facilities, and personnel.
Makes recommendations for continuous improvement and cost reductions.
Supports the commercialization process for new business development, interacts with customers for service and quality issues, and other activities related to building the business for growth.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Food Science, or a technical field a plus.
12+ years of increasingly responsible manufacturing experience, at least 5 years which must be in the food industry.
4+ years of experience leading a high performance management team.
Demonstrated leadership of safety initiatives that drive a zero injury culture.
Participative management style and excellent organizational and communication skills.
