"Safety First" expectations include, but are not limited to, PJHA process, Observation process, and compliance with all company / site safety guidelines and procedures. This position will be responsible for the supervision of hourly welders, pipefitters, mechanical technicians, and other trades as required.

What's The Job?



Title: Welding Supervisor



Location: Eddyville, Iowa
Salary: up to $90,000.00 DOE
Hours: Average 42-46 hrs Monday through Thursday 6 am to 4:30 pm (Rotating half day fridays approximately every 4-5 weeks)


A t eam member will lead and supervise a team welding technicians performing industrial welding in manufacturing facilities. Must be familiar with welding/fitting. Will always hold team to company and customer performance expectations. Will require some computer skills in Excel, Word and Outlook.

What Will I Be Doing?


Here are just a few things you can expect to do daily:

  • Hold daily start up meeting with team



  • Hold daily toolbox talks with team

  • Delegate daily work assignments

  • Meet with customer contacts as required daily, weekly

  • Provide direction on work execution

  • Ensure accountability of team members in quality, safety, and engagement



  • Assist as needed in field

  • Conduct quality audits of jobs in field

  • Ensure all documentation is completed timely and correctly

  • Establish performance goals for team members

  • Recognize team accomplishments



  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal

  • Policy understanding and enforcement

  • Have deep knowledge of craft skills

  • OSHA certification, 10 - hour required, 30 - hour preferred

  • Conduct employee performance reviews.



  • Maintain documentation for any employee issues that arise.

  • Escalate issues to account manager as required

  • Review and approve time-off requests. Appropriately schedule employee time off to ensure proper manpower levels. Inform employees of any denials of time off and explain reasoning to them.

  • Maintain direct on-going communication with other company supervisors to ensure smooth workflow processes.

  • Accept feedback from others, set goals to improve performance based upon this feedback.



  • Inspires and motivates others to perform well.

  • Exhibit objectivity and openness to others' views.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by company and customer.

  • Education: Possess a high school degree or an approved GED

  • Experience: Must possess a minimum of 5 years' experience in an industrial setting

  • Additional Skills: Good facilitator skills and strong computer skills. Interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively work with all levels of the organization. Ability to lead work within cross-functional teams.
