Truck Driver Battery Breaker w/CDL at The Doe Run Company in Boss, Missouri

Job Description:

Do you have a Class A CDL license?  The Doe Run Company is seeking a Truck Driver Battery Breaker with CDL to safely operate tractor trailer to move product between Doe Run Company (DRC) locations, following Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations.   This position is located at The Buick Resource Recycling Facility in Boss, MO near the Mark Twain National Forest. 

Resource Recycling hourly new hires will receive a $1,000 sign-on bonus.  $500 paid after 6-months of employment and $500 paid after 12-months of employment.  Subject to the terms and conditions as further described at the interview.


  • Transport product to multiple DRC locations (up to 100 miles) using an 18-wheel semi-tractor trailer and a 10-wheel dump truck.

  • Follow DOT rules and regulations in order to ensure safe passage of DRC equipment, materials, and people.

  • Make sure work area and equipment is clean and in good working order.

  • Communicate daily work activity and transportation schedules with personnel at various locations.

  • Provide support for the receiving department and operators as needed.

  • Interact with DRC facility personnel and provide support for the loading process.

  • Responsible for making trailers road ready.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

  • One to three years of experience as a truck driver.

  • Safe driving record.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Mobile equipment certification.

  • Environmental safety and health rules and regulations training.

  • HAZ MAT training.

  • Valid, current driver’s license.

  • Valid, current Class A CDL license.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • General maintenance skills.

  • Ability to maintain safe driving record and Class A CDL license.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Ability to apply and understand Department of Transportation rules and regulations.

  • Skilled operation of over the road truck in varying weather and road conditions.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently required to wear personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to, respirator, hearing protection and eyewear and to work near moving, mechanical parts; occasionally required to work in confined spaces.

  • Regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions; frequently exposed to vibration.

  • Exposed to moderate noise levels.

  • Regularly requires driving and repetitive movement; frequently requires sitting, feeling attributes of objects, grasping, and reaching with hands/arms; occasionally requires talking, hearing, pushing, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing or balancing.

  • Requires clarity of vision, three-dimensional vision, the ability to judge distance and spatial relationships, precise hand-eye coordination, and the ability to identify and distinguish colors.

  • Regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds; frequently required to lift up to 75 pounds; occasionally required to lift up to 100 pounds.
