Nemours IMPACT (Innovative Mental Health Pathways for Child Therapists) Fellowship Program
Nemours Children's Hospital- Delaware is inviting master's trained therapists looking to receive supervised clinical hours as part of our IMPACT Fellowship Program. Our program will train 10 pre-licensed therapists to provide screening, consultation, and treatment for children and adolescents as well as care coordination, case management, and acute crisis intervention/management. Completion of this program will provide trainees with hours to obtain field specific independent clinical licensure along with skills and competences necessary to provide mental health services for youth from birth to young adulthood. Spanish speaking and bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
We are seeking candidates interested in learning and adapting evidence-based family and individual interventions addressing the above. Our ideal candidate prioritizes diversity and cultural humility that drives their passion in working with youth and their families. Training will incorporate exposure to school-based and integrated primary care, early childhood (including training in PCIT, and behavioral interventions to address a wide range of concerns affecting young children and their families), outpatient therapy for children and adolescents, risk assessment, treatment and prevention (including opportunities to learn DBT) of risk and self-harm behaviors, and acute care/crisis rotations. These positions will focus on providing consultation, and individual and family therapy for families in the larger Delaware Valley and rural downstate communities.
Equity, diversity, and inclusion guide our growth and strategy. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about and committed to leading efforts to provide culturally relevant care, reducing health disparities, and helping build a diverse and inclusive team environment. We are committed to expanding the pathway of a diverse workforce and as such, are intentional in our hiring and retention practices. We practice continuous learning through awareness-enhancing and bias reduction educational opportunities that guide our overarching lens of health equity.
There will also be opportunities for quality improvement and research initiatives as well as the potential to apply for open employment opportunities after the fellowship. We also offer numerous opportunities to participate in program development, leadership, advocacy, and community outreach. Experience working with Spanish speaking families is desired.
