The DHS Leadership Development Program (LDP) plays a key role in achieving the unique mission of LA County Health Services by developing the leadership capabilities of the 2,300 managers and supervisors who lead frontline teams providing care and services to our patients every day. LDP’s approach is that we drive results and success by valuing and investing in people. Through our innovative leadership and learning programs, the LDP advances our mission at DHS by developing and empowering managers to lead their teams to achieve healthcare excellence on behalf of our patients and communities. This comprehensive approach sees learning as continuous and enables us to achieve sustainable results by helping leaders apply and practice new mindsets and skills on the jobs with their teams. This includes in person workshops that bring together managers from across the organization for learning and skills practice through a variety of instructional design methods, as well as providing them follow up resources, tools as well as experiences to support sustainable practice of workshop learnings on the job.

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Works closely to support LDP Directors and LDP Facilitation & Community Engagement (FA+CE) as well as liaison and provide any necessary programmatic assistance to the Program Management team and Strategic Alignment & Community Impact (SACI) team.

  • With the FA+CE team, co-facilitate leadership development programs (TOP, LEAP and NEXUS L.A.B.s) and support projects that help develop capabilities of DHS supervisors and managers to independently apply leadership techniques to create a culture of high performance.

  • Develop curriculum and instructional design, facilitation efforts, and support event logistics and management for programs improvements/modifications and new services offerings.

  • Provide administrative and operational support for FA+CE Team pre-, during, and post- workshops and other program events; This includes but is not limited to corresponding with and scheduling leadership faculty to co-lead TOP/LEAP/NEXU L.A.B.s sessions, maintaining the leadership faculty roster and content on the dedicated SharePoint site for faculty, coordinating and supporting leadership faculty prep sessions, and updating/maintaining the FA+CE Team Visual Management Board, and other projects as assigned.

  • Support FA+CE and SACI teams with data-related activities including collecting, inputting, maintaining and analyzing program data on utilization, learner outcomes, and post-training behaviors; Identify trends and provide insights for effective program efforts, alignment, and improvements.

  • Support Strategic Alignment & Community Impact in community engagement strategies and activities by doing and/or coordinating LDP team members assigned to community engagement projects including the e-newsletters, marketing, website, social media and other engagement platforms; Keep track of project deadlines and timelines and ensure team members are on track and on time.

  • Liaison with the LDP Program Management team to ensure common ground among all teams this role supports.

  • Create and maintain FA+CE team SOPs, on-boarding, and cross training and coordinate efforts of contributing team members.

  • Lead efforts to increase utilization of post-TOP events (e.g. reunions) and resources (including the LDP website, Transformational Leader’s Toolkit, and the SPARK kits).

  • Coordinate and collaborate with colleagues to ensure that all parties are on track with project requirements, deadlines, and schedules.

  • Report and escalate issues impacting program outcomes to management as needed.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Two years of experience in training and development, curriculum development and design, program/project management, marketing and communications, and/or community outreach

Education/Experience


  • Education and/or experience in Education, Psychology, Sociology, Business Management, Project Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field is preferred

Certificates/Licenses/Clearances


  • Successful clearing through the Live Scan and the Health Clearance process with the County of Los Angeles.

  • A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.

  • Experience facilitating trainings and group sessions.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and relationship building skills.

  • Experience with technical platforms including MS Office Suite, Zoom, learning management systems, etc.

  • Experience in curriculum development and instructional design.
