Job Title: Vice President, Research & Development

Established in 1964, the Oakland-based California Workers Compensation Institute (CWCI), a leading public policy research group dedicated to improving the California workers compensation system, seeks an experienced candidate to conduct and lead its research activities.

Responsibilities:

• Manage highly experienced researchers and participate in establishing and implementing CWCIs research agenda.
• Conduct public policy research, draft reports, and design/build supportive analytic tools
• Create and deliver live presentations for members, conferences, and legislative/administrative committees.

Primary Qualifications:

This leadership position offers a unique opportunity for professional development in a stimulating environment. Candidates should have experience in analyzing medical and/or disability data and possess excellent data and research skills, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills. A college degree and at least five years of experience in health services research, statistics, business analysis, public policy or a related field is required. A graduate degree and experience in or knowledge of the California workers compensation system is preferred, but not essential.
