Job Summary:

The Cooper Standard NA Fluids Program Management Team has an exciting chance for an Intern to
receive an introduction to and hands-on experience with Cooper Standard's new product launch (CLauS) and advanced product quality planning process with an emphasis on Program Management standard work the across initiating, planning, executing, monitoring/ controlling, and closing process groups. In addition, this high-performer will support the NA Fluids Program Management staff in the governance of program launch objectives including timeliness & profitability.

This Summer Intern position for 2024 will provide you with an opportunity to understand our technology, launching product and support the Program Management team as they work to execute across our Cooper Launch Standard (ClauS) processes.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Undergo abbreviated Program Management on-boarding, to assist the NA Fluids Program Management team in use of enterProj based analytics, to identify opportunities in planning (program timelines, gates, deliverables) as well as controlling progress on key launch deliverables, in order to work directly with the Program Managers to optimize planning, and drive risk mitigation action/ reporting.

  • As an extension of the Program Manager, participate in assigned weekly cross-functional team open issues meetings led by the Program Manager, assisting in leading the team through prototype/ pre-production build readiness, deliverables, and customer requests as well as open issues tracking.

  • Apply an analytical mindset, supporting the Program Managers in the identification of financial variances, and generation of roadmap actions/ commitments with the cross-functional program team.

  • Assist the NA Fluids PM Leadership team in the coordination/ resolution of escalated launch roadblocks, as well as help facilitate program launch reviews, program margin reviews, and follow-up outcomes.

  • May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description.

Education and Qualifications:


  • Senior level student

  • Pursuing a bachelor degree in Engineering, Business or a related field at an accredited university with a minimum 2.8 GPA

  • This position is eligible to work remotely, supporting daily/ weekly meetings by Microsoft Teams. Will be required to meet on-site occasionally, at our Northville, MI Headquarters throughout the internship.

  • Have effective communication skills and be comfortable leading/ collaborating with diverse teams.

  • Have a basic understanding for, or interest in honing business financial skills.

Work Environment/Work Conditions:

  • Professional Office Environment

  • Must wear proper personal protection equipment while on the manufacturing floor

  • Travel to prototype, lab, manufacturing facilities or customer locations when required
