We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Financial Analyst to join our team. As key contributor you will:


Play a pivotal role in shaping and guiding the financial strategy of the organization. The role has a dual mandate: contribute to SPP’s comprehensive financial planning and analysis efforts. Your expertise and experience, combined with a strong ability to independently execute primary functions and collaborate seamlessly with the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team, will be instrumental in driving the success of SPP during a period of exceptional growth. Additionally, you will work directly with SPP’s CFO to provide critical communication, coordination, project management, and analytical support.


As a Lead Financial Analyst, a combination of hard and soft skills will enable you to independently and collaboratively produce and convey insightful financial analysis. To be successful as the Lead Financial Analyst, we're looking for:



  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or related field

  • Six (6) years of relevant experience in financial analysis, or other analytically focused roles

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • The ability to tailor information and insights to a diverse audience

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen

  • Proven experience developing financial models, interpreting financial data, and summarizing information into various formats

  • Advanced financial modeling and presentation skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, across the organization, and with external stakeholders professionally and independently

  • Understanding of and compliance with SPP Policies and Procedures


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Strong understanding of Southwest Power Pool, Regional Transmission Organizations, or Electric Utilities.

  • Strong financial modeling and forecasting skills.

  • MBA or related


Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:



  • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of workweek are Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Working extended hours may be required. 


Travel Requirement:



  • This position requires minimal (0-10%) travel.
