Job Summary:

Under minimal direction, perform local, regional (AMER, APAC & EMEA), and global IT support related services specific to a defined set of systems, processes, or software applications. Works as a functional advocate for continuous information systems, related functional processes, and software application improvement in support of Finance Systems.  Perform business case and ROI analysis. Analyse complex business problems, provides functional and technical solutions via workflows and software program and report specifications. Supports development teams and technical resource needs.  Performs tasks to support all phases of Application Support, Compliance, Security, Legal, Service Design and adhere to the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).  Research, communicate, and demonstrate “best practice” opportunities for the local/regional organization, allowing key decision makers and local/regional managers the opportunity to leverage “best practice” as a strategic and competitive advantage for the organization. 

Essential Functions & Accountabilities:

APPLICATION SUPPORT – FUNCTIONAL RELATED:


  • Respond to and diagnose problems through discussion with end users; this includes problem recognition, research, isolation, root cause, and resolution steps.

  • Resolve more complex problems by assisting IT Technical and Finance Management level staff in problem resolution. 

  • Document, track, and trend support instances from creation to resolution within the ServiceNow ticket system.

  • Maintain familiarity with end user functional processes performed in the supported applications.

  • Develop, perform and coordinate systems, process, testing, and software training.

  • Proficient in writing functional specification documents and work closely with business teams IT development and infrastructure teams.

APPLICATION SUPPORT – TECHNICAL RELATED:


  • Undertake research and fact finding to develop or modify information systems.

  • Prepare detailed specifications from which programs and reports will be purchased, written, or modified.

  • Perform system, process, and application monitoring and gather metrics.

  • Perform application system administration functions specific to application setup, configuration, and maintenance. 

  • Analyse, configure, and revise existing system logic difficulties and document as necessary.

  • Produce documentation as necessary.

  • Demonstrate expertise in the use of application specific reporting tools. 

  • Assist end users with ad-hoc data requests.

  • Must be familiar with remote data capture technology.

  • Experience in and ability to write and execute SQL queries on database tables for data mining.

  • Previous experience in Oracle eBS is required.    

  • High level of IT literacy – architecture, concepts, and terminology.

  • Competence with all major Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Visio.

BUSINESS REQUIREMENTS RELATED:


  • Assist in formulating and defining systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of all applicable Finance business systems, accounting, and industry requirements.

  • Consider Finance business implications of the application of technology to the current Finance business environment and make appropriate recommendations for sign off by Manager or Sponsor.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT RELATED:


  • Lead and oversees medium to larger projects.

  • Ability to construct accurate timelines and produce sound estimates of level of effort.

  • Develops schedules and work breakdown structure tasks for project management lifecycle and monitoring.

  • Responsible for coordinating activities of project teams on these projects.

  • Identifies resources needed. 

  • Ensures execution and drive projects according to plan and defined timelines.

QUALITY ASSURANCE RELATED:


  • Execute procedures to ensure that all information systems products and services meet organization RAQA standards, legal, security, compliance, and end user requirements. 

  • Assist in testing and defect tracking and resolution for software systems to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects.

  • Document and works to resolve basic to more complex problems.

Travel Requirements: 

Minimum travel (<5%) requirements anticipated.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Possess a thorough understanding of all aspects of Finance Commercial and Finance Operations business functions.

  • Possess a thorough understanding of all modules/systems to provide business systems support for Oracle EBS, Concur, Blackline, WebCenter, Floqast, as well as develop systems roadmaps for future enhancements.

  • Possess excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Able to lead team and user group meetings. 

  • Deliver informative, well-organized presentations. 

  • Ability to understand how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.

  • Effectively communicate complex technical issues in an easy-to-understand format.

  • Possess ability to prioritize tasks for Production Support and Project Enhancements in a high-pressure environment.

  • Work scheduled hours and is ready to work at scheduled start times to support global users.

  • Seek assistance from manager in identifying and reporting problems or concerns relating to job functions, supervisor, and personal employment status.

  • Adapts readily to changes in workload, staffing, scheduling, and shifting priorities.

  • Complies with all company policies and procedures.

  • Complies with supervisory/management direction.

  • Conducts self in a professional manner with co-workers, management, customers, IT development and technical staff, third party external vendors, and others.

Work Environment:


  • Standard office environment (including remote work environments).

  • Prolonged sitting in front of a computer.

  • Extensive interactions with global employees, management, vendors, and external business partners.

  • Supporting global projects and a global team, willingness to occasionally support non-standard working hours, outside 8am-5pm EST, is required.

Experience:


  • 8-12+ of financial systems and support experience associated with global manufacturing, distribution, and finance sectors.

  • 12-15+ years managing Finance Systems projects.

  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience.

  • Commensurate IT Technical experience to perform the job duties.

  • 10-15 years of experience in supporting Oracle Financials and understanding RTR processes.

  • 10-15 years of experience in supporting and administrating the 3rd party financial applications Concur, WebCenter, Blackline and/or Floqast.

  • Strong knowledge and experience in integrating Oracle with HFM.

  • 5-8 years of experience as finance super user.

  • High level of expertise and experience in project management and delegation.

  • Proven capability with a variety of applications: Microsoft Project (expert), JIRA (proficient), HPQC/ALM (advanced), SharePoint (advanced), ServiceNow (proficient), Microsoft Office (advanced)

Education:


  • Bachelor’s Degree 

  • Masters (preferred)

For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting base pay for this role is between $109,072 and $145,429 and may include cost of living adjustments.  The actual base pay includes many factors and is subject to change and modification in the future.  This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation and benefits.
