IT Security Lead at BMW of North America in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey

Job Description:

As the IT Security Lead, you are responsible for analyzing, designing, coordinating, and implementing (measuring), security controls for the BMW of North America consistent with Americas Region and BMW Group security guidelines and targets. You work closely with application development teams to ensure secure development and delivery practices, including security findings management and oversight utilizing secure source code analysis and protection tools. You ensure adherence to industry and corporate security regulations and guidelines, provides support, leads project efforts related to IT security initiatives, and has responsibility for steering external providers in the delivery of IT Security deliverables as needed. You manage and track relevant IT risks within the BMW Group risk management processes and applications. You prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols. You deliver content and expertise in support of products and Agile initiatives. You engage with regional and local teams to clarify and reinforce target measurables and impact of risks, vulnerabilities, and effort of remediation.

The pay range for this role is: $119,560.00 - $140,659.00.

The selected candidate's education, skills, experience, and location will be used to determine the final salary offer. All pay ranges are based on a full-time work schedule. This statement is in accordance with state and local pay disclosure requirements.

  • BA/BS degree in business, information technology, engineering or the equivalent of 4 years of experience in the management of information technology application development, maintenance and support.\

  • 7+ years of demonstrated success in information technology, with at least:

    • 5+ years in a senior-level software or security engineering role, and

    • 3+ years specializing in IT Security.



  • 1+ year working in Agile projects.

  • 3+ years in IT Governance.

  • Knowledge of modern programming languages and mainstream scripting languages as well as legacy technologies:

    • Common IT technologies (e.g. Java, .Net, C#, Web, databases, Salesforce, or SAP).

    • Knowledge of the core technologies used by the relevant BMW entity (e.g. C#, ASP, ASP.net, Javascript, Angular JS, T-SQL, Python, HTML, Oracle, R, ABAP, SAP HANA, Adobe Experience Manager).

    • Experience in Mainframe technology (Cobol), DB2, Oracle and/or cloud native database design.

    • Cloud based environments and apps.

    • Automated unit testing, continuous integration and deployment.

    • Rest API and other service-oriented architecture approaches, etc.



  • Proven track record of successful work with non-IT data privacy, retention and security experts.

  • Proficient in corporate risk management and relevant tools

  • Proficient in advising feature teams on IT security and data privacy and retention topics and in enforcing relevant standards.

  • Current Certificate in CISSP.
