Job Description:

The Vice President, Software Engineering is responsible for leading the software engineering teams that develop, maintain, and support the MHK SaaS platform and solutions. The role oversees the full software development lifecycle, from planning and design to testing and deployment, ensuring quality, scalability, performance, and security. The role also fosters a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement among the software engineers, and aligns their work with the enterprise architecture vision and strategy. The role works closely with other Technology leaders, Product Management, and Business stakeholders to understand customer needs, prioritize features, and deliver value-added solutions.  This role will be instrumental in driving the development of high-quality software products that meet or exceed customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

       Leadership and Strategy:


  • Develop and execute a comprehensive software and quality engineering strategy aligned with the overall business objectives.

  • Provide visionary leadership to the software development and quality assurance teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

       Team Management:


  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of software engineers and quality assurance professionals.

  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels within the teams, ensuring a cohesive and collaborative work environment.

      Product Development:


  • Oversee the end-to-end software development lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality, scalable, and reliable software solutions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management and design, to drive innovation and meet customer requirements.

       Quality Assurance:


  • Develop and implement robust quality assurance processes to ensure the delivery of bug-free software products.

  • Define and measure key performance indicators to assess and improve the effectiveness of the quality engineering processes.

Skill, Experience & Qualifications:


  • 15+ years of experience in Technology with a minimum of 10 years in Senior Management, leading software engineering organizations.

  • Experience in developing and delivering SaaS solutions using cloud technologies, microservices, APIs, and DevOps practices.

  • Experience in leading agile software development teams and applying best practices and methodologies to include testing frameworks and automation.

  • Adept at setting and communicating software engineering vision, strategy, and goals.

  • Experience in hiring, developing, and retaining top talent.

  • Creates and fosters a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Healthcare, managed care, or payer domains experience is a plus.

  • Excellent communication skills and executive presence with prospective clients or business partners.

  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to lead effectively and collaborate as a cross-functional peer and with remote/geographically distributed teams.

  • Adept at making decisions and anticipating roadblocks with minimal information.

  • Superior communication, analytical, organizational, and presentation skills.

  • Proficient with Word, Power Point, Excel, Visio and JIRA.

Education Requirement: 


  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Additional Requirements:


  • Desired location: Tampa.  Remote Candidates will be considered.
