The Maintenance and Reliability Manager is responsible for the design and implementation of a Preventative Maintenance system to sustain and enhance the reliability of manufacturing and auxiliary equipment. Oversee the RWP (Reliability Work Process) to prioritize the maintenance tasks and allocation of resources ensuring repairs and preventative work is appropriately documented. Drive a strong and robust TPM philosophy and become a key change agent in translating TPM into the culture of loss control and prevention, aiming at continuous improvement. Develop the Maintenance KPI’s to minimize line downtime, assist with process and operations, and improve overall equipment effectiveness. Coordinates required and requested maintenance activity for equipment, facilities, and environmental with Engineering, Maintenance, Production Planning, and Manufacturing to obtain optimum downtime date. Monitor required and spare parts inventories. Provide guidance and leadership in the activities required for the effective maintenance of all manufacturing and support equipment, and all facility maintenance issues. Manage and implement predictive and preventive machine health programs to reduce unplanned mechanical and electrical downtime.
Key Duties:
Measures and reports on TPM performance through KPI’s
Applies TPM framework, tools and techniques leveraging internal and external support
Translates TPM and Reliability into local culture
Effectively communicates change to factory teams and identifies barriers to change
Work with Leadership to identify any skills required to effectively perform job duties within the Maintenance department ensuring personnel receive relevant training
Responsible for training and daily management of the maintenance staff
Lead and Develop effective maintenance strategy by asset including autonomous support needed by shop floor personnel and driving alignment between plant departments
Engages employees across the organization to participate and contribute to the Reliability and TPM culture
Plans and executes systems to achieve sustained facility reliability
Establish performance expectations and holds team members accountable for delivering company goals
Complete required EPA and Safety PM requirements as outline in permits/regulations
Assist with investigation and solution of safety related incidents/events
Lead/support continuous improvement projects using the A3 format
Manage contracts with suppliers for services related to facility and equipment

Essential Functions:
Schedule production equipment maintenance and repair in a manner that maximizes throughput and utilization yet minimizes scrap
Commit start and completion dates of required machine maintenance to fulfill manufacturing requirements
Expedite machine maintenance repairs when equipment encounter unanticipated mechanical or electrical downtime
Requisition required and spare parts
Manage overtime within the department
Adhere to all Company Safety rules and regulations
Minimize unplanned maintenance downtime events
Identify machine issues and resources for redesigns, upgrades, or modifications as needed
Support capital projects controlled by TP engineering
Oversite of on-site managed capital projects
Maintain capital project status and cost updates monthly
Provide direction to craft personnel in areas of scheduling, staffing and work assignments
Provide feedback on department goals and individual performance
Maintain health of all equipment and facilities
Assist in the developing and managing maintenance budget
Ensure proper staffing and training for craft personnel
Respond to internal audits and external customer audits in a timely manner.
Conduct performance evaluations
Ensure JSHA, Work Instructions an Procedures are updated and reviewed with the maintenance department
Responsible for 42 lines running 24/5 with overtime in our 285-person, 400,000 sq. ft. facility.
Non-Essential Functions:
Controls costs by proactively controlling expenses and elimination of waste.
Contributes to a team effort by proactively assisting internal contacts.
Attend training programs to develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills.
Essential Requirements:
Some overnight travel by various modes of transportation including airline, train, and automobile as deemed appropriate
Able to work extended hours as required
Continuous contact with other people requiring communications via face-to-face, orally by telephone and various written methodology's
Essential Qualifications & Knowledge:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Required
Mechanical and Electrical background, with a minimum of 5 years of experience leading a successful TPM program
Experience with a Maintenance Management System (Asset Essentials experience preferred)
Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodology and tools
Excellent oral and written communications skills through all levels of management
