This is an exciting opportunity to join the leadership team of DCCU as its Corporate Legal Counsel, Vice President.

Job Responsibilities:

This position advises management on legal issues and provides counsel related to organizational policy, compliance, banking regulations, bank secrecy, employment matters, and contracts or agreements. This position is also responsible for leading the Credit Union’s legal division, which includes the functions of internal audit, and regulatory compliance departments.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to; preparing, reviewing, and advising on contracts and other legal documents, apprising executive management of legal or compliance risks related to business matters, and providing practical and responsive legal advice.

The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctorate (JD) degree, active member of the Virginia State Bar Association preferred, with a minimum of 5 years related corporate banking legal experience. The successful candidate will bring a positive and collaborative work approach to the management team.  The candidate will work closely across business lines to provide advice and solutions to legal matters. They must be approachable, proactive, and service-oriented, with strong communication and critical thinking skills. A high level of emotional intelligence and business acumen is necessary for success in this role.
