Location:  This position is REMOTE 

Vector Security Networks is hiring for a Sr. Network Engineer (Remote). The Sr. Network Engineer will be responsible for design implementation, troubleshooting, research and development , maintenance of network routers, firewalls, switches, access points and other network equipment's. Coordinating and consulting with customers in order to determine feasibility and technical needs and make recommendations for hardware.

What You'll Do:



  • Supporting Customer Network Environment:


    • Work closely with customers for Installation, design, integration and deployment of network communications. 

    • Handle escalations and trouble tickets received from NOC 3rd party system. 

    • Maintain regular connect with customers through customer calls and discuss about new projects and change requests.

    • Maintain regular updates of IP database management, in order to prevent conflicts and keep clear record of sites. 

    • Provide calls coverage on weekends for store issues as needed. 

    • Connect with customer representative’s afterhours to aid with maintenance that would affect the daily downtime. 

    • Design network diagrams using Visio and guides, to depict the customer networks.




  • Project Calls: 

    • Attend various NOC, project management and customer calls to discuss troubleshooting, ongoing projects, new projects, replacements and maintenance.

    • Provide log in to different devices that maintain our logs, review and provide solutions.




  • New Customers:

    • Assist sales engineering with technical solutions to provide to the customers. 

    • Regularly attend calls and assess site needs based on budget to provide design solutions. 

    • Meet with customers and conduct information gathering sessions to discuss network requirements. 

    • Create new proposed network diagrams for the customers to provide solutions.




  • NOC On-Boarding:

    • Define the management method of all assets of customer network.

    • Assist in creation of customer success guide regarding all technical aspects. 

    • Troubleshoot any assets that are unable to be onboarded. 

    • Work with NOC engineering team to set up access into the NOC network via VPN portals. 

    • Participate in NOC stand up project calls, along with weekly and monthly NOC calls. 




  • Research & Development:

    • Conduct customer calls with cradle points and vendors to discuss products and solutions.

    • Coordinate with hardware vendors to discuss latest products in the market.

    • Order new products to put in office labs for testing and audit new hardware prior to new products implementation.



What You'll Need:



  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent - Required 


    • Bachelor’s Degree in related field - Preferred

    • Must have an understanding of computer science/information technology related principles and how to conduct business at an elevated level.




  • NSE level 4 - Required

    • NSE level 7 - Preferred




  • Minimum 12+ years of experience

    • Design implementation, troubleshooting R&D, maintenance of network routers, firewalls, switches, access points and other network equipment.




  • 10+ Years - Network design experience or equivalent of CCDA certification.

  • Experience with 4G, 5G wireless technology.

  • Experience with the below - preferred:

    • Forti-Manager

    • Forti-Analyzer

    • Cradle-Point 

    • Net-cloud Manager

    • Cisco Meraki




  • Ability to Work Holidays/Weekends:

    • May need to work extra hours.

      • The position typically requires more than 40 hour per week during busy season which is general Spring and Fall.

      • After hours installations or weekend NOC escalations may occur and require assistance in an on-call fashion.






  • System Thinking:

    • A general system thinking mindset without getting bogged down with technology.

    • Ability to understand the problem domain and break it down into components/sub-systems/sub-solutions.

    • Provide multiple solutions for the same problem statement.




  • Excellent Computer Literacy:

    • In order to effectively communicate both internally and externally, must be proficient with computers, especially Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
