PLANNING PRACTICE

DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker International's Harrisburg, PA office is seeking a Technical Consultant to support its dynamic and growing Planning Department whose client base includes state and local governments, non-profit organizations, and private sector entities.

The Technical Consultant will support Michael Baker's existing and growing portfolio of transportation planning, air quality, climate change and resiliency support services. The successful candidate will entail the following knowledge and capability characteristics:


  • Experience in supporting state DOTs and regional MPOs with air quality conformity determinations and management of congestion mitigation and air quality (CMAQ) funding.
  • Experience in addressing climate change and resiliency topics related to the transportation sector. This may include support in addressing requirements related to new federal initiatives and programs.
  • Experience with administrative and planning activities related to scenic byways.
  • Experience in other transportation planning studies and assessments
  • Experience collaborating and coordinating with a diverse group of clients and stakeholders.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for preparing and presenting reports and projects.
  • Knowledge of principles, methodology, practices of research and data collection

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Microsoft Office Suite, with proficiencies in MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Bachelors or Master's degree in environmental science, urban planning, economics, or equivalent fields of study.
  • 20+ years' relevant experience with State DOT and MPO Planning Work

COMPENSATION

The approximate compensation range for this position is $45.12/hour - $67.68/hour in Harrisburg, PA. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
