Job Description:

Schneider Electric has an exciting opportunity for an Assembly Process Co-Op starting June/July 2024 in Cedar Rapids, IA . We are looking for a highly motivated, passionate, detail-oriented individual with a strong desire to gain hands on experience in an innovative environment.

What will you do?


  • Evaluate and validate product design alternatives to create optimum process designs by applying knowledge of product design, assembly, fixturing and materials.

  • Work hands on during prototype builds to assess the validity of the design concepts

  • Create detailed capacity analysis studies

  • Assist in definition of the material flow and handling used to supply the process

  • Plan and establish the sequence of operations to fabricate and assemble parts or products and to promote efficient utilization of resources (machine and human).

  • Generate quote comparisons based on cost, lead time and technical feasibility

  • Develop standardized work instructions

  • Identify and implement digital tool solutions that align with our Smart Factory initiative


What qualifications will make you successful?

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Technology, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field

  • Basic understanding of AutoCAD, Creo (ProE) or Solidworks

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)

  • Motivated self-starter, with the ability to work in on multiple projects independently, while giving high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Great communication skills to align and collaborate with all functions throughout the design center
