Job Description:

Schneider Electric has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our Power Systems organization for January 2024 at our El Paso, TX manufacturing facility.

What will you do?


  • Develop mechanical design documents and engineering aids

  • Design basic electro-mechanical parts for switchboards and switchgear equipment

  • Work directly with various manufacturing functions to solicit feedback on improving designs and manufacturing processes

  • Collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, quality, planning, materials & project management personnel to meet program goals

  • Work in a manufacturing environment


What qualifications will make you successful?

  • In process to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering degree

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills

  • Strong problem solving, interpersonal and customer relation skills

  • Must be self-motivated and proactive

  • Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel

  • Programming/Application Development: Visual Basic/Macros

  • Knowledge of CAD software for mechanical designs

  • Completion of basic or introductory electrical engineering or physics courses

  • Local to and/or attending school in the El Paso, TX area as we are not able to provide relocation or housing assistance for internships
