WHAT YOU'LL DO



The Auditorium Support Engineer will work in partnership with the customer, management team, global helpdesk, and SIG teams to provide on premises support for AVI-SPL customers at customer site(s) with the end goals of delivering a world-class Customer Service experience.



Day-To-Day Responsibilities:




    • Analyze trends and root cause analysis of trouble tickets to assist in improvement of conference room performance.
    • Assess business impact of serious/complex outages/problems & make recommendations collaborating with engineers & project managers.
    • Provide technical consultation, support, and act as lead site contact for all VC operations & maintenance.
    • Assist with bringing new rooms online and interfacing with client personnel to implement scheduling & reporting procedures (overseeing room-readiness acceptance testing).
    • Recommend measures to improve performance and increase efficiencies
    • Execute all aspects of IME Auditorium & Technical Event support including system set up & operation, end user training, troubleshooting and follow through on escalation of trouble incidents occurring during any event.
    • Perform, pre-event setup, first and second level problem determination and resolution as necessary according to Novartis standard procedures.
    • Lead or assist, as required, with the support of special events, high profile senior executive meetings, town hall meetings, as directed by Novartis.
    • Set up, testing, operation, and teardown of AV & videoconference equipment; (e.g. video data projection systems, computers, audio and videoconference equipment, microphones, video cameras, audio systems and operation of integrated AV systems).
    • Install small or portable audio visual and non-integrated AV hardware.
    • Perform and report on first and second level problem determination.
    • Troubleshoot, assess, & coordinate equipment & systems repair as required.
    • Create, update and resolve trouble tickets as assigned.
    • Interface with technology vendors for equipment servicing, training, etc. whether warranty or routine maintenance.
    • Provide training to end users in the operations of audio-visual systems.
    • Compile and maintain room and equipment inventory.
    • Maintain conference room integrity in compliance with Novartis standard procedures; perform regular preventive maintenance checks (e.g., either report or address troubles such as cable management issues, safety standards non-compliance, etc.).
    • Manage and deploy Novartis provided spares as required.
    • Coordinate audio-visual activities with other Novartis groups as required (e.g., facilities, IT, etc.).
    • Create & modify user documentation and SOPs as required.
    • Interact in person, by phone, and/or e-mail directly with Novartis management and end-users.
    • Understand and adhere to Novartis standard procedures.
    • Recommend measures to improve performance and increase efficiency.





WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR




Must-Haves:




  • Effectively communicate with employees, customers and colleagues
  • Ability to use hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner and to solder & crimp connectors
  • Ability to manage small to medium projects
  • Familiarity with minor programming (AMX/Creston) - changes and troubleshooting
  • Ability to work and think independently and ensuring to meet deadlines
  • Intermediate computer knowledge
  • Knowledge of basic signal flow for audio, video and control
  • Valid Driver's License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets AVI-SPL driving standard
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent


  • Experience using Tricaster technology. (Required)





Nice-To-Haves:




  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of audiovisual integration and/or service experience
  • Formal education in Electronics or related field
  • The following training certifications:
    • AMX Intro to Networking for AV Professionals
    • AMX Programmer I
    • Crestron Professional Installation
    • Essentials of Crestron Programming Certification
    • Exton AV Associate Certification
    • InfoComm Quick Start to the Audio-Visual Industry
    • InfoComm CTS General Certification
