Job Title: Shipping & Receiving Clerk

Reports To: Logistics Supervisor

Summary

Research Tool & Die Works powered by Fairbanks Morse Defense is seeking a motivated individual to fill a shipping and receiving clerk position at our facility located in Carson, CA. This individual will be a key member of the logistics department at Research Tool & Die Works Inc. The individual will work with a team handling the receipt and delivery of all incoming shipments while ensuring the accuracy of outgoing shipments. A successful candidate should have the ability to work with minimal supervision, work well with a team to communicate progress, and have the ability to accurately count, pack, and ship orders utilizing ERP systems.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

• Manages the shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies.
• Collaborates and communicates with logistics supervisor, packing/shipping associates, service providers, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products.
• Tracks, traces, and updates the status of incoming and outgoing shipments on the Syspro ERP system.
• Maintains a clean, neat, and member-ready area.
• Promptly unloads trucks and deliveries and sorts and stocks receivables.
• Maintains an accurate log sheet of daily moves, scanning inventory, and counting accurately.
• Engages with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude.
• Provides additional backup support for shipping and receiving departments.
• Scans and sorts incoming and outgoing stock
• Receives, stocks, and stacks products and materials
• Pulls, packs, and loads products as instructed
• Ability to operate a forklift
• Familiarity with the RTND Parts Catalog
• Other duties assigned by the supervisor, which include general labor tasks

Qualifications and Educational Requirements

• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Strong sense of time organization and urgency
• Able to work independently and within a team
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unaided
• Ability to bend, crouch, and lift items throughout the shift
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• 6 months of logistics, retail, or customer service experience
• Must be able to use Microsoft 365 software
• Experience using ERP system is highly desirable
• Forklift Certification is highly desirable

• This position includes access or potential access to export-controlled data. Therefore, you will need to qualify as a U.S. Person, which is defined as a U.S. Citizen, a U.S. Permanent Resident or a political asylee in compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Acceptable proof of this status includes a US Passport, Permanent Resident Card, US birth Certificate or Naturalization Certificate. Maintenance, including renewal, of licensing authorization is a condition of employment. Government authorization may be a suitable alternative after review on a case-by-case basis.
• This is a full-time 40 hour per week position; however, overtime will be scheduled as need. The standard shift is from 7:00AM-4:15PM Monday-Thursday and 7:00AM-12:00PM on Friday.
