What will I be doing?

As a VP, Global Creative Director, you will lead Hilton's global creative expression, bringing it to life through distinctive creativity. Leading the Creative team reporting to VP, Global Head of Content, Media, & Partnerships, you will develop and execute global strategies that push the bounds to help deliver a compelling brand narrative through breakthrough creativity. You will lead a dedicated team of creative professionals and work with cross-functional teams to ensure our creative strategies amplify our brand platform, achieve business objectives, and are delivered through a customer-centric approach.

Your responsibilities will also include:


  • Lead and champion Hilton's brand platform, Hilton. For The Stay., globally across the organization
  • Define and implement the creative expression of the brand, Hilton, and our 22 trading brands
  • Extend and influence Hilton's design system through all business units across the globe to ensure brand voice and design
  • Instill creative tools and systems that allow teams to scale creative excellence
  • Provide strategic, innovative, and design thinking-led solutions that facilitate fresh, compelling creative concepts delivering business objectives
  • Oversee production of all content and assets both in-house and through agency partners

How you will collaborate with others:

  • Build cross-functional relationships to understand strategic objectives, understand the scope of work pipelines, and encourage phenomenal creative work through strong fundamentals (writing creative briefs, communicating work, etc.)
  • Lead creative direction to teams allowing strategic, high-impact impact, and effective creative
  • Excel and at ease with ambiguity

What initiatives you will take ownership of:

  • Guide content development and oversee creative execution of new content ideas
  • Identify top talent for all in-house creative functions (creative design, copy, development, production, etc.) and match creative resources with organizational needs
  • Lead development, partnership, and oversight of 3rd party creative agencies and independent contractors including Tier 2 and 3 agencies, photographers, and video production

What are we looking for?

Success in this role will demonstrate itself through the following attributes and skills:


  • Understand Hilton and the competitive landscape, including industry, competition, target audience, and marketplace changes, and be in our creative.
  • Knows how to apply a global mindset to brand building with the instinct for when to lead with a global vs. regional creative to ensure a consistent customer experience.
  • Understanding of culture and consumer trends with a demonstrated expertise in finding natural ways for brands to create cultural capital and build brand meaning.
  • Strong network of agency and production partner relationships.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to inspire and sell creative rationale to executive leadership (C-Suite), senior leadership, and multi-functional teams.
  • Deep understanding of media, influencers, and content and the role creative plays in creating and optimizing the experience across channels.
  • Demonstrates an innovative, strategic creative method by applying customer insights, design thinking, and technology.
  • Able to direct high-quality creative across mediums and channels.
  • Experience across mediums (video, photo, interactive, print, etc.) and channels (TV, digital advertising, web, email, mobile, social media, on-property, etc.).

To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:

  • Ten (10) years of leading creative for a large, globally relevant brand
  • Experience leading an in-house creative studio or similar environment
  • Seven (7) years managing large, globally dispersed teams
  • Experience in brand development for large, global brands
  • Up to 30% travel

It would be useful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Advanced Degree in Design or Marketing
  • Experienced in building and leading creative teams across global regions (Americas, EMEA, and APAC)
