HomeTrust is dedicated to being a high performing community bank, while also being recognized as a best place to work.  Therefore, leveraging technology to drive innovation, efficiency and deliver exceptional value to our customers is considered an essential part of this vision.  As we continue to grow, we are seeking a visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to develop a technology plan that supports the bank’s strategic plan.  The CTO will lead our technological initiatives, shape our technological vision, and drive the execution of our technology strategies. The CTO will be responsible for leading a team of IT professionals, for defining and executing HTB’s technological vision and strategy, collaborating closely with business operations, marketing, and other key stakeholders to drive growth and innovation. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of technology trends, strong leadership skills, and the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve ambitious goals. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our technology infrastructure, systems, and processes support our business objectives and enable us to stay ahead of the curve in a rapidly evolving landscape.

  • Develop and communicate a comprehensive technology plan that encapsulates the company’s technological vision, strategies, that aligns with the bank’s strategic plan.

  • Collaborate with business operations, marketing, and various lines of business to identify opportunities for technological innovation, efficiency, and digital transformation.

  • Lead a high-performing team of technology professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of technical solutions, ensuring alignment with architectural principles, best practices, and industry standards.

  • Define and maintain the company’s technical architecture and infrastructure, including cloud services, data storage, networking, and software applications.

  • Lead efforts to enhance cyber security and data privacy, implementing robust measures to protect the company’s assets and mitigate risk.

  • Serve as Executive sponsor of complex IT projects, setting priorities and developing appropriate business cases.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes, increase efficiency, and enhance the scalablity and reliability of our technology systems.

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory developments, and assess their potential impact on the company’s business and technology strategies.

  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, vendors, and technology providers to leverage expertise, resources, and innovation opportunities.

  • Communicate effectively with executive leadership, board members, and other stakeholders to provide updates, insights, and recommendations on technology-related matters.

  • Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information.

  • Adhere to all corporate policies and procedures, Federal and State regulations, and laws.

  • Complete all mandatory annual compliance training.

  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

  • Follow regulatory requirements including those pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Customer Identification Program (CIP), and OFAC to assist in the identification, detection and determent of money laundering and other unlawful activities, as well as regulations pertaining to lending and consumer compliance to include fair lending laws. 

Job Requirements

Education:


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.

Required:


  • 12+ years of experience in technology leadership roles, with a proven track record of success in driving digital transformation and delivering business results.

  • Strong understanding of technology trends, including cloud computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop teams to achieve strategic objectives.Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to develop and execute technology strategies that support business objectives and drive growth and innovation.

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and deliver results on time and within budget.

  • Flexibility and the ability to work in a quickly changing landscape.

  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and modern software development framework.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products. 

Preferred:


  • Advanced degree in related field of study.

  • Banking or financial services experience.

  • Experience in cyber security, risk management, and compliance is highly desirable.
