About the Role

Essity Health and Medical Solutions is looking for an experienced Market Access Manager who will contribute to the company's efforts of securing optimal patient access and reimbursement for the company's products in a geographic country/cluster.

What You Will Do


  • Build and deploy the Market Access Strategy and integrated policy and communications approaches to optimize patient access for our HMS products

  • Develop, lead and execute access, reimbursement and policy strategy in both the public and private sectors

  • Collaborate on the development of optimal pricing strategies and support the implementation of pricing activities consistent with the strategy

  • Work closely with both Global and Local Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Public Affairs, Commercial Excellence, Operations and Legal to develop and execute integrated product access plans

  • Bring an understanding of the payer perspective to internal teams to ensure that payer requirements are adequately met throughout the evidence development and commercial strategy development processes in a timely and accurate fashion

  • Oversee training of cross-functional stakeholders to educate on key market access initiatives, messaging and materials

  • Work with Medical Affairs and conduct Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) data and analysis to advance our value proposition around our core solutions

  • Represent or Support HMS NA in key industry and medical associations aimed at advancing education and access

  • Support designing value dossiers and applications for reimbursement

  • Own the management of all internal / external data sources that provide insight into market dynamics

  • Lead a team of analysts to support the delivery of expectations on the Market Access team

  • Collaborate with global Public Affairs and provide local leadership to Public Affairs initiatives

Who You Are


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree; MBA preferred

  • 5-10 years in the health care industry, with at least 5 years specifically in market access

  • Proven track record reimbursement and market access

  • Experience successfully launching new products, achieving formulary access and market share objectives (wound care, incontinent care, vascular care, orthopedic care experience a plus)

  • Successful track record in engaging public and private payers, specialty societies, and other key stakeholders

  • Extensive knowledge of reimbursement terminology, managed care and healthcare policy, including comprehensive understanding of standard managed contract language

  • Strong understanding of legal and regulatory environment in healthcare promotions and other compliance-related issues

  • Ability to assess risks and benefits to make timely, sound decisions with various levels of information, and accept responsibly for meeting and/ or exceeding objectives

  • Problem solving orientation with strong strategic and analytical abilities, diplomacy, negotiation and excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to communicate complex information in a convincing way to non-technical audiences

  • 40-60% travel required
