Position Summary:
Responsible for the supervision and safety of children, while providing high quality Prime Time programs that allow for positive interaction with children and their families.
Reports To:
Child Care Director
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Include the following. Other duties may be assignedAssist in maintaining the necessary records involving attendance and sign-in/out sheets. When releasing child(ren), insure the proper release procedures arefollowed and appropriate identification is shown. Inform parents of the system used for accountability of the children.Beprepared to describe the program features and procedures.Maintain good public relations with parents and direct serious matters to theCoordinator or Program Director.Set up and break down equipment as necessary.Responsible for the health and safety of Prime Time participants. Cautioningthem regarding unsafe practices and conditions.Perform rescue/first aid whennecessary. Report accidents and injuries and complete incident reports. Maintain a neat, clean and pleasant environment.Report deficiencies inequipment and supplies to the Coordinator or Program Director.Arriving prepared for the scheduled shift, which includes arriving for duty 15minutes prior; in proper attire; prepared for constant concentration and visualsurveillance of participants with no distractionsFind coverage for self in the event of an absence and then notify the Coordinatoror Program Director of the change.Responsible for attending staff meetings/events. Demonstrate and teach theCharacter Development values of caring, respect, responsibility and honesty.Be a member service ambassador remaining abreast of current programs andfacility schedules.Being prepared to provide personalized direction to otherYMCA services.
Qualifications
High School (GED) preferred
