Schneider Electric Systems USA, Inc. seeks a Principal Customer Support Engineer in Foxboro, MA.

Job Description: Consult and provide solutions for service/productivity issues to management. Represent the service organization in reviews or forum on both an internal and external basis. Aid in selling services to customers. Advise service management on customer requirements for field located services and their income producing potential. Participate in post shipment commissioning and start-up activities to secure customer acceptance and satisfaction. Conduct customer demonstrations. Act as a consultant in the implementation of unique/customized systems. Handle significant projects, programs and business initiatives using demonstrated creativity and ingenuity. Initiate and direct (on a project basis) joint programs across functional boundaries to review new or revised products to ensure proper serviceability in the product design. Participate in pre-systems checkouts and functional demonstrations to determine systems acceptability. Make recommendations for improvements and suggestions of functional requirements for future products. Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Write and present project proposals and assign specific responsibilities and provides training to project personnel. Recommend new servicing techniques and concepts that will improve quality and profitability. Evaluate project status and individuals in relation to assigned milestones. Determine methods and procedures on new assignments. Research, develop, and implement highly complex plans and procedures for business or technical needs. Coordinate service engineering activities and strategies and provides status reports to management. Assign work to lower-level engineers, provide departmental leadership in the absence of the manager. Participate in the interviewing and selection of employees. Develop and present various data and reports to support business and technical strategies and plans. Eligible for remote work 1 day per week.

Requirements: Position requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electronic Engineering, Engineering Management, Computer Science, or a related field. Employer will accept a combination of academic and work experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in lieu of a bachelor's degree. Position also requires 4 years of experience in engineering (industrial automation, automation systems, or process control), or related occupation, which must include at least some experience in the following skills: Telephone/bFo/email technical support role of industrial measurement instrumentation; Utilizing Process Instrumentation applications for Pulp &Paper, Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Food & Beverage, Metal and Mining, Oil & Gas, and Water Wastewater industries; Utilizing Instrument terminology (Example: LRV, URV, Span, Range, etc.) and line symbols; Thermocouples, Thermistor, and RTD troubleshooting; Application, operation, calibration, and troubleshooting of pH, ORP, Fluoride, contacting and inductive conductivity equipment; Conductivity curves interpretation; 4-20 mA as well as the various industrial communication protocols (ModBus, FieldBus, FoxCom, HART & WirelessHART) and various communication tools/software (PACTware and HandHeld Communicators); and Interpreting RFQs model codes based on specification sheets and crossing over competitive model codes.
