Job Description:

Job Classification:

Finance & Accounting - Finance & Accounting

At Prudential, we believe talent is key to achieving our vision. When you join Prudential, you’ll unlock a motivating and impactful career – all while growing your skills and advancing your profession at one of the world’s leading financial services institutions!

Prudential is a company built on the idea of inclusion and united by a common purpose: we make lives better by solving the financial challenges of our changing world. Our commitment to Business Resource Groups (BRGs)— voluntary, employee-led groups that serve as a resource to help foster a diverse, inclusive workplace and are aligned with clear goals tied directly to objectives of the business —is longstanding and differentiating. As distinct from employee resource groups (ERGs) which are closely aligned to a goal of creating an inclusive workplace, BRGs are focused first on contributing to the organization’s commercial success. Their members, who serve as “customer zero,” possess the ability to deliver business value by providing insights and helping to forge connections with an expanded base of customers and create innovative approaches to meet the needs of communities we aim to serve.

In this re-imagined, elevated role reporting to the head of Business & Societal Impact, the VP, Business Resource Group Management will be primarily responsible for:

Playing a Lead Role in Business Partnerships

Contributing to the development of Inclusive Solutions business engagements, identifying how BRGs can contribute to strategic focus areas for growth and/or market expansion, and then integrating BRGs into the work plan. This includes establishing KPIs and measuring and reporting on impact. Also, identifying how the BRGs can work with empowered teams.

Engendering Followership

The leader of the BRGs will need to be able to maintain the respect of the BRG co-leads and executive sponsors and other key stakeholders. They will need to be able to influence participants to accomplish goals under a single, business aligned strategy. This involves motivating and inspiring volunteer members and leadership, building relationships with business leaders and across Inclusive Solutions, and demonstrating results.

Building Enterprise Capability and Access

This leader will work closely with Prudential’s Senior Management, as well as other parts of Inclusive Solutions and areas within Prudential (e.g. HR), to engage in and support the work. This includes having a keen understanding of key issues (e.g. Prudential’s business, intersectionality, allyship), supporting the Head of Inclusive Solutions on the Enterprise Inclusion Council, and supporting the external engagement of the BRGs.

Maintaining Strategic Discipline

The focus on established business plans will need to be brought to life and maintained across the BRG platform under the oversight of this leader. That means leading on both the strategy and administration of the BRG platform. In addition to the strategic elements highlighted above, the leader will need to lead a robust annual strategic planning effort, and address and manage equity of resources and programs across the platform.

Administratively, the leader will need to oversee ongoing operations, manage and regularly update SOPs, maintain the budgets, providing light-touch event logistics support, and ensure ongoing communications.

The current EWA for this position is Hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.

What you can expect:

  • Setting strategic direction and tracking progress; holding leaders accountable to goals and progress.

  • Driving business-focused results.

  • Inspire and engender confidence and followership; mentor and grow leadership competencies.

  • Possessing a high EQ and proven cultural competency and cultural intelligence.

  • Building relationships and creating an inclusive, trusting environment.

  • Championing differing ideas and perspectives and collaborating across teams and leading in a matrixed environment.

  • Able to maintain a budget and provide financial oversight.

What you’ll need:

  • 10+ years of well diversified experience in a corporate environment

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Strong (clear, efficient, and effective) communication skills, both oral and written and organizational skills

  • Experience with managing multiple stakeholders and influencing at all levels, acting as an agent of change

It’d be a plus if you had:

  • Leadership experience in an employee resource group or business resource group

  • Experience working in a matrixed environment
