We are seeking high school seniors to join Garmin's Fast Track to Tech program as a Material Handler. This part time position is located in our Olathe, KS office. In this role, you will be responsible for loading, unloading, moving material, inputting data and other inventory movement within a computerized system with accuracy while maintaining a safe and clean work environment. The part time position lasts one semester during your senior year and has the potential for a full-time employment offer after earning your diploma.
Essential Functions:
Load, unload, and move material
Responsible for accuracy of inventory, transactions, and material movement
Responsible to follow all departmental procedures
Receive, transact and sort material
Follow Electronic Static Discharge (ESD) guidelines for static sensitive materials
Pack materials to ensure adequately delivery to internal and external customers
Ability to operate RF device to transact and move material
Depending on departmental responsibilities, the ability to safely and efficiently operate one or two pieces of powered industrial equipment such as a dock stocker or powered pallet jack.
Must possess the ability to bend, twist and lift up to 55 pounds while using safe lifting techniques, standing for an entire shift and walking long distances throughout the facility.
Must possess a high degree of dexterity and eye coordination, to allow manipulation of buttons, switches, hand tools and knobs on delicate equipment, products and parts, in the performance of essential functions
This position will require the ability to sit, stand, look down, bend, twist and have dexterity with hands
Perform housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe work environment
Must meet quality and productivity metrics
Ability to accept responsibility for work assignments and job duties and to be held accountable for their successful completion
Comply with all safety standards and policies
Compliance with HRD-003 (Garmin's Attendance Policy)
Basic Qualifications
Must be at least 16 years of age and less than 1 year away from earning a HS Diploma or GED
Strong experience and aptitude with computers
Must possess the ability to bend, twist and lift up to 55 pounds while using safe lifting techniques, standing for an entire shift and walking long distances throughout the facility
Must possess the ability to safely and efficiently operate one or two pieces of powered industrial equipment such as a dock stocker or powered pallet jack
