We are seeking a full-time Corporate Environmental Compliance Engineer in our Olathe, KS location. This role supports our Sustainability Team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with corporate-level environmental regulations, industry standards and customer requirements.
Essential Functions
Develop/implement companywide greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions data collection, analysis and verification processes
Monitor, review and distill environmental compliance regulations, standards and requirements on a global scale
Interpret and effectively communicate potential or actual business impacts and risks of new and changing requirements
Independently research, synthesize and apply complex regulatory and standards frameworks
Utilize strong project management skills to plan, execute and report on initiatives to ensure compliance with prioritized environmental regulations, industry standards and customer requirements
Serve as environmental regulatory point of contact within Sustainability team
Develop/implement auditable solutions and processes that will satisfy requirements
Make key contributions in defining systems and tools to meet compliance obligations
Utilize sound problem-solving techniques to provide reliable solutions for a variety of problems
Offer suggestions to improve processes and authors new procedures with oversight
Demonstrate a sense of urgency, commitment and focus on the right priorities in developing solutions in a timely fashion
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering discipline AND a minimum of 3 years relevant experience
Demonstrated proficiency in understanding and interpreting international, national and state legislations, directives and industry standards
Ability to analyze a problem to root cause, brainstorm and offer solutions, align with stakeholders and execute solutions
Experience leading cross functional teams through research, planning and implementation of initiatives
Demonstrated strong and effective communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills
Demonstrated excellent time management, organizational and follow-up skills
Collaborate effectively with stakeholders, across organizational boundaries and geographies
Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
Experience with data analytics software &/or tools
Desired Qualifications
Previous work or experience with environmental compliance topics such as GHG emissions, sustainability, product carbon footprint and product lifecycle assessments
Familiarity and experience with standards such as GHG Protocol, ISO 14064, ISO 14067
