Logistics Associate at TDK-Lambda Americas Inc in Neptune, New Jersey

Job Description:

 


As a Logistics Associate, you play an essential role by processing inbound and outbound shipments, domestic and international thru customer portals while building a relationship with Freight Carriers. Maintain tariff requirements and competitive domestic and international transportation rates. Ensures that freight is processed efficiently to maximize product service levels. Assign all HTS codes for freight forwarders.  Reviews freight invoices for accuracy. Manage PHV C-TPAT compliance.


 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


• Process Domestic and International shipments


• Maintain rates for domestic and international shipments and yearly bidding for international lanes


• Coordinate the C-TPAT requirements and tariff regulations for PHV


• Streamlines shipping and transportation process: reviews freight costs, transportation rates, and the prices of materials to keep costs down. 


• Track shipment details, locations, and estimated time of arrivals


 


QUALIFICATIONS FOR A LOGISTICS ASSOCIATE


• High School Diploma or equivalent


• One to three years of related experience (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience)


• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.


• Ability to navigate and use internet/intranet and other programs such as the MS Office package including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access, or Company-wide cross functional Enterprise Resource Planning software. Must also be able to perform limited troubleshooting.


• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
