Safety professionals at Beacon partner with our policyholders to reduce workplace hazards. This position will integrate professional advisory services as best practices; develop and design communication materials and presentations on injury prevention; and educate management and employees regarding sound workplace safety techniques. Your expertise will be the guiding light towards a safer, more secure work environment. This opportunity is open to both junior and senior level professionals with valid experience and expertise within this industry. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities:
Conduct site visits for various businesses within the construction industry to identify potential hazards and develop customized safety programs and recommendations that go beyond the ordinary in an effort to minimize risks associated with workplace hazards.
Initiate workplace safety site surveys to uncover operations, hazards, and controls. Develop recommendations that not only minimize risks but set a new standard for safety excellence.
Work closely with policyholders and agents to educate management and employees on cutting-edge workplace safety techniques.
Develop and design communication materials and presentations that are not just informative but captivating.
Required Qualifications:
Requires a High School Diploma (GED) and a minimum of 4 years of field safety experience with expertise in the construction industry or an equivalent field.
Your computer skills are your toolkit for success, so we are seeking an intermediate proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
A valid driver’s license, good driving record, and reliable transportation are required. Territories include RI, CT, and MA.
OSHA-10 Construction Department of Labor Certification/License.
Willingness to be trained as an OSHA-10 Construction Outreach Trainer and NSC Forklift Operator and Forklift Train-The Trainer, if not already certified.
Physical ability to perform construction site assessments and service visits.
Qualified candidates must have solid presentation skills that leave a lasting impression. Experience conducting adult education safety workshops in various settings is extremely helpful.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor degree or equivalent
Ability to read, write and speak in English and Spanish is preferred.
Certified as an OSHA-10 Construction Outreach Trainer
Certified to teach NSC Forklift Operator and Forklift Train-the Trainer courses.
Extensive knowledge of construction industry standards and workplace safety and health are highly preferred.
