Responsibilities

Managing projects, engineers and technicians in their day-to-day work. Independently performing traffic engineering and managerial tasks. Performing evaluations, investigations, and design in traffic engineering including signing and pavement markings, traffic signals, lighting, Maintenance of Traffic, and ITS. Performing analyses in traffic engineering including capacity, Level of Service, queuing and delay. Documenting and reporting all processes and results. Assisting in the preparation of plans, drafting, and computations. Performing field observations of traffic operations, roadway geometry, and existing conditions. Preparing displays and graphics for client and public meetings. Assisting with the design and development of a complete set of construction documents including the coordination required with other disciplines. Assisting with the coordination of subconsultants’ work. Back checking work of other engineers or subconsultants. Writing and preparing project specifications. Preparing construction cost estimates. Assisting with and preparing technical memoranda and reports for traffic engineering such as Traffic Impact Studies, Traffic Safety Studies, Transportation Management Plans, and Maintenance of Traffic Alternatives Analyses. Some local travel required. Some job duties can be performed from home.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Civil Engineering plus 60 months of experience in the job offered or as a Traffic Engineering Professional. Professional Engineer (PE) license. 1 year of experience with MicroStation or AutoCAD. 1 year of experience with HCS and Sidra. 1 year of experience with Synchro or Vissim.
