News Intern-Helena/Butte MT

Lee Montana is seeking applicants for a FT 10-week news internship over the summer for the Independent Record in Helena or The Montana standard in Butte. The selected intern will have the opportunity to work and learn in both newsrooms. The start date is flexible, and this internship pays $15.00/HR.

The ideal applicant is creative, motivated, innovative, prolific, and deadline driven. We want our interns to walk away with a rewarding, real-world newsroom experience, a pile of great clips and the skills they need to develop into the next generation of journalists. We will provide an atmosphere of collaboration and support.

Qualified candidates should be inquisitive self-starters who are capable of producing compelling content for our digital and print platforms. Interns should feel empowered to find and pitch great stories about our increasingly diverse communities. We want multitaskers who can juggle multiple assignments and embrace all facets of multimedia storytelling. Applicants who are enrolled in a bachelor's program in journalism or a recent graduate of a program will be preferred. A valid driver's license, proof of auto insurance, reliable transportation and the flexibility to work some night and weekends are required.
