Finance Process Improvement Manager at Medline Industries, Inc. in Northfield, Illinois

Job Description:

Provide and lead financial decision support with business partners and research and recommend options and solutions for improved business results to senior management.
Manage key simplification initiatives and related projects to increase the efficiency, effectiveness and consistency of Medline's Finance processes.
Lead and oversee financial reporting among the financial analysis team and support new business initiatives, system integrations, and other major change management impacting the FA team.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Engage employees as project manager, overseeing projects from charter to execution while insuring quality content and timely execution.

  • Use process improvement methodologies such as documenting current state and future state end to end process, stake holder identification and analysis, communication plans, etc., to implement process improvements.

  • Implement innovative processes or changes that support the goals of Finance function.

  • Oversee the financial planning and analysis and financial reporting processes for Division FP&A team. Collaborate effectively with multiple FP&A leads and regularly help define consistent reporting metrics. Coordinate with team and deliver on reporting needs within established timelines.

  • Manage the divisional forecasting process (annual budget, quarterly, and long-range forecasts) by guiding divisional finance teams on crucial input drivers and summarizing/communicating the comprehensive financial story to finance partners. Responsible for building/maintaining central finance forecasting templates for divisional FP&A team to utilize and assisting FP&A team.

  • This is a high-level individual contributor role - management responsibilities limited to leading day-to-day activities and outcomes of a group of employees.
    May be involved in hiring staff, recommending pay increases, performing performance reviews, training and development of staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.

  • Work across all pillars of Finance & Accounting as needed such as during month-end close or on specific projects.

  • Serve as backup to the Senior Manager of Financial Analysis.

Basic Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • At least 5 years of experience in one or more of the following fields: project management, financial analysis, accounting.
  • Experience in data analytics including Tableau and Alteryx experience
  • Experience processing all relevant details, understanding and prioritizing their importance and drawing clear and concise conclusions.
  • Experience taking steps to ensure the assignment/projects is accomplished within tight timeframes.
  • Experience controlling and coordinating concurrent projects, competing priorities and critical deadlines.
  • Advanced level skill in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience contributing to strategic decision making and goal setting initiatives.
  • Willing to travel for business purposes (within state and out of state).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA.
  • Experience in the indirect management of team members, including assisting in the development, training and assignment
    of work/projects to other members of a team.
