Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Air Quality Scientist to join our Sustainable Operations team, in Chelmsford, MA. This job can also be performed remotely from a location that is within driving distance to any Arcadis US office. This will be a hybrid/remote role with occasional visits to client sites.

In this role you will work directly with other air quality engineers on air quality permitting, sustainability, reporting and compliance projects, providing support to our key clients. You will be responsible for emissions inventory development and reporting, air permitting and compliance support, engine and ozone depleting substances compliance, greenhouse gas emissions calculations and/or air dispersion modeling.

Role accountabilities:

This role includes performing a wide variety of air quality services for clients in industries such as manufacturing, automotive, chemical, transportation, and oil and gas. While your project focus will be air quality, you will have the opportunity to participate in other environmental compliance projects such as compliance auditing, waste management, stormwater permitting and SPCC plans.

• Apply your knowledge of federal and state air quality regulations to air permitting and compliance projects.
• Prepare air permit applications such as Permits-by-Rule, minor NSR, FESOP, Title V, PSD (and PSD avoidance), and Non-Attainment NSR (and NNSR Avoidance).
• Collaborate with Arcadis' air team to ensure application of regulatory knowledge, analytical techniques, and excellent project delivery.
• Perform environmental compliance audits with a focus on air quality and EPCRA.
• Manage project teams to deliver high quality, on time, on budget project deliverables.
• Perform and/or oversee emissions calculations for regulated air pollutants and greenhouse gases to be included in reporting such as emission inventories, Toxics Release Inventories and Tier II.
• Support client and proposal development activities.

In this role you must be willing to travel up to 10-20% for project and client needs which may include single overnight trips. Most work can be performed from an Arcadis office location or remotely.

Qualifications & Experience:

Desired Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 year's experience in Air Quality
• Bachelors or Masters degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering or related engineering field

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters degree in the fields listed above
• PE registration
