Job Description:

Position: Quality Control Inspector

Department: Quality Assurance

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00am-3:30pm

Position reports to: Quality Assurance Manager

Position Summary:

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for inspection of incoming materials, first production articles, in-process and final products using inspection tools, methods, and techniques in accordance with drawing and p.o. requirements and specifications. Coordination of Return Material Authorizations (RMA) and Non-Conforming Material Reporting (NCMR) related to production materials. Maintain tools in Calibration system as required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Quality Inspector has a broad range of duties, including:

• Read and interpret engineering drawings using geometric dimensioning and tolerances
• Inspects incoming materials, products, and work in progress (WIP) for conformance to specifications
• Inspect detail parts and assemblies per drawing requirement and specs using standard measuring equipment and the recording of measured values in inspection reports.
• Prepare and maintain inspection reports.
• Prepare, update, issue and maintain RMA's and Repair Log
• Prepare, update, issue and maintain NCMR's and NCMR Log
• In charge of tagging (with a hold tag) and quarantining all failed incoming and WIP materials
• Collect and tabulate data for DPPM reporting.
• Ensure that proper raw materials and finish certifications are received with incoming materials as required by drawing or p.o.
• Other duties as directed by Supervisor

• Successfully work with the QA team in a hands-on position with daily goals and priorities
• Basic computer knowledge including MS Excel and Word. Oracle experience a plus.
• Interpret drawing requirements/specs and geometric dimensions and tolerances
• Familiar with MIL, NAS, MS, AMS, AWS and AS specifications and standards
• Ability and knowledge of dimensional tools - Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges, rules, go/no-go tools, other standard measuring tools/instruments.
• Familiar with special process specifications for chem film., anodize, paint, heat treat, welding.
• Understanding of AS9100 standard and its requirements

• High school graduate
• 3-5 Years mechanical inspection, military and/or aerospace experience preferred.
• Post high school education in math, engineering, inspection techniques or related fields a plus
• Due to ITAR requirements an export license may be required
• Must be literate and fluent in English

• Continuous periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer and phone.
• Prolonged time standing.
• Must be able to occasionally lift 25 pounds at a time.
• Frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands.

Salary Minimum: $40,000

Salary Maximum: $60,000
