Job Description:

An IT/Records Specialist delivers primary 2nd and 3rd level support to the user community.  Responsible for the day-to-day desktop systems deployment, maintenance and support.  In addition, Analysts will handle assigned project work, research issues, moves and replacement equipment requests.  This position works closely with the Information Technology groups to ensure timely and reliable service.   Additionally will provide support to records services on a limited basis. This position may have required overtime on occasion.

Essential Job Responsibilities

IT Services


  • Install, configure and troubleshoot desktop and laptop hardware, peripherals, operating system and firm business software.


  • Troubleshoot client side network connectivity issues both hardware (NIC/cabling) and software (application connectivity to servers/Internet).




  • Configure and troubleshoot both HP network class and local printers. 




  • Perform interoffice computer equipment moves and new employee setups. 




  • Troubleshoot remote access issues both software and hardware. 




  • Setup and troubleshoot various Smartphone devices.  Research and resolve software/hardware errors through OEM, vendors and technical literature while routing other issues to appropriate staff when applicable. 




  • Monitor Desktop ticket queue and respond promptly to tickets keeping the user informed of status and resolutions while maintaining the firm’s service level agreement. 




  • Clearly document each case in the ticket management software, annotate all updates and properly document a final resolution. 




  • Perform audio-visual setups to ensure meetings launch/start successfully by working closely with the AV and local Conference Service teams. 




  • Maintain and document inventory and supply needs including monitors, keyboards, mice and other peripherals.




  • Coordinate with Operation group on all equipment moves, relocations and setups.




  • Assume additional responsibilities as requested.




  • This role requires regular (100%) in office presence.



Record Services



  • Register new files and track the circulation of files to and from client staff in Records Management System (RMS) database. 




  • Prepare inactive files for offsite storage or digitization, performing file culling activities as requested. 




  • Perform regular inventory of files stored at client facilities, or offsite storage vendors. 




  • Assist client with retention and file transfer activities, obtaining relevant files, preparing file indexes, staging for review, and preparing for shipment  




  • Assist client with clean-up activities, including triage, categorization, and appropriate storage or disposition of content. 




  • Prepare reports related to the activity of the Records Department. 




  • Ensure accurate tracking, monitoring and recording of all charges, overtime, logs and entries



Qualifications & Characteristics



  • Bachelor’s degree or relative work experience




  • 2+ years of desktop experience in a professional services environment, Law Firm experience preferred.





  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in using Windows 11, O365, iManage, VPN.  Hardware includes desktops, laptops, Smartphones, HP printers and scanners.




  • Ability to quickly get up to speed and master new applications and software is critical.




  • Strong hardware and software problem-solving and analytical abilities.




  • Demonstrated proficiency with rollouts, migrations and upgrades are required.




  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.




  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.




  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to execute through to completion.




  • Creative problem solving skills, reasoning ability, and logical thought process.




  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize competing demands, and meet various deadlines.




  • Demonstrated ability to professionally interact and collaborate with colleagues at all levels.

The Compensation range for this role is 25.47 to 38.21 USD per hour and may be eligible for an annual bonus. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual's location, skills, experience and qualifications.
