Summary:

The Credit Analyst manages customer accounts in support of sales while mitigating the company's risk of bad debt. This position performs credit and collection activities for assigned areas and provides support to the Credit Manager.

What you'll be contributing:


  • Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.

  • Assists in the posting of payments and reconciliation of customer accounts.

  • Evaluates customer payments and attempt to collect delinquent accounts, make collections calls, and write collection letters.

  • Researches and examines credit risks and assesses credit history to establish the creditworthiness of new customers.

  • Establishes relationships and communicates with customers, sales staff, and branch contacts.

  • Assists with the regular review of existing customer account credit limits.

  • Makes recommendations for credit line adjustments by evaluating customer credit activity and payment history.

  • Ensures proper customer account maintenance and adherence to credit policies.

  • Prepares and disseminates internal accounts receivable (A/R) reports to the sales team.

  • Communicates the status of high-risk accounts and collection efforts to the Credit Manager.

  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

To succeed in this position, you will need:


  • Ability to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc

  • Minimum 4 Year/ Bachelor's Degree in business, accounting or finance.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in related position providing credit and collections customer services. Experience in construction, and manufacturing preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office365 and computer applications

  • Proficient in financial software (JD Edwards a plus)

  • Proficient in legal, compliance & market risk-related issues

  • Ability to analyze financial statements

  • Knowledge of industry credit reporting tools

  • Ability to make sound independent judgments regularly

  • Ability to maintain confidential information with discretion

  • Ability to work professionally with difficult people, unpleasant subject matters, and with high conflict situations

  • Ability to professionally represent the company with external constituents
