Job Overview:

The Downstream Account Manager position is a customer interfacing member of the Cooper sales team, responsible for managing the relationship with major “downstream” accounts on behalf of the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Downstream Account Manager will be responsible for the following:

·       Overall relationship management of key customers in the refinery and petrochemical industries

·       Building senior-level relationships with customers up to and including C-suite

·       Negotiating and implementing major multi-year strategic contracts

·       Communicating new Cooper innovations & technological solutions to address customer operational issues

·       Developing long-term account plans, including financial forecasts and technology plans

·       Travel~50%+ of the time throughout North America

Required Qualifications:

·        Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college preferred; minimum high-school diploma or GED with 10 years sales experience required

·       Minimum 7 years of experience in sales origination or other customer-facing role within the downstream compression space.

·        Ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships with customers

·        Strong contractual negotiation experience

·        Strong reciprocating engine and compressor experience

·        Excellent verbal and written communications skills

·        Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)

·        Commitment to safety, customer service quality and to work in team-oriented environment
