Position Title: RF Engineer Intern

Role


This Internship is designed to provide leadership-focused, motivated participants an opportunity to learn about the telecommunications infrastructure industry and to be challenged with a meaningful, career-oriented work experience.


Responsibilities



  • Support Senior RF Engineers and/or RF Engineers in creating iDAS and Small Cell network designs to include system equipment selection such as antennas, passive RF conditioning products and active electronics.

  • Assist the construction teams’ efforts by ensuring detailed scopes of work (SOW), processes, procedures, and test plans.

  • Review and approve various construction contractor provided field test results such as PIM, VSWR and DTF.

  • Assist with RF and fiber testing, reporting, and troubleshooting.

  • Obtain knowledge of radio wave propagation fundamentals, antenna theory, and optical transmission medium.

  • Update system databases including but not limited to Small Cell Geographic Information System (SCGIS) and Asset Management System (AMS).



  • Collaborate with stakeholders in the design and construction process of Crown Castle’s Small Cell and iDAS strategies.

Education/Certifications  



  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited higher education institution with an expected graduation date between December 2024 and June 2026

  • Preferred field(s) of study: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering


Experience/Minimum Requirements  



  •  Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) from June 3 to August 9, 2024

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. on a full-time, regular basis without additional sponsorship



Reports to: RF Engineering Manager


Work Plans: This role falls into our hybrid work model working in the office on Monday through Thursday.  On Fridays, teammates on the hybrid schedule will have the option to work from the office or home.
