Position Title: Machine Learning Engineering Intern

Role


We are looking for a Machine Learning Engineering Intern to join our team and contribute to AI model development. Our team is a small, agile part of an innovations team that explores the business application of exciting new technologies.


This internship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in applying machine learning to real world problems. You will improve the model architecture, training pipeline, model evaluation, and model deployment of our existing AI models.


Responsibilities



  • Research and implement state-of-the-art techniques to improve the model architecture, training pipeline, model evaluation, and model deployment.

  • Collaborate with the team to identify areas of potential business impact.

  • Conduct experiments and analyze results to measure the impact of the implemented improvements.

  • Document the methods used, findings, and improvements achieved throughout the internship.

  • Present the progress and outcomes of the project to the team, showcasing the methods used and the achieved improvements.

Education/Certifications  



  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student in pursuit of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited higher education institution with an expected graduation date between December 2024 and June 2026.

  • Preferred field(s) of study: Computer Science, Data Science or related field.


Experience/Minimum Requirements  



  •  Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) from June 3 to August 9, 2024

  •  Authorization to work in the U.S. on a full-time, regular basis without additional sponsorship

  •  Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.

  •  Comfortable with using a terminal for common Linux operations.

  •  Experience using git/GitHub to implement open-source projects.

  •  Interest in machine learning concepts and algorithms.

  • Familiarity with model training, evaluation, and optimization techniques.



Reports to: Robotic Solutions Engineer


Work Plans: This role falls into our hybrid work model working in the office on Monday through Thursday.  On Fridays, teammates on the hybrid schedule will have the option to work from the office or home.
