Responsible Operation Safety

Orlando, Florida (Onsite)

Position Summary

Thales is looking for a Responsible Operational Safety who will ensure that all computer equipment used in repair or production processes meet essential cyber safety standards. As an expert in computing, the RSO tackles all facets of cyber safety and maintains operational conditions for connected test computers. As the overseeing authority for the entire Orlando Repair Station, the RSO serves as the go-to point of contact in case of any cyber security situations and liaises with the Central Cyber Security Management. They bridge communication between Operational Management and the Central Information Systems department. Among their duties, the RSO shoulders the responsibility to develop and conduct training on appropriate cyber security practices for operators. They may also be required to contribute to bench maintenance tasks, particularly when these are related to connections to the "Industrial Network" (RIN).

In this position, The RSO plays a pivotal role in administering the Test Computers at the Orlando Repair Station, the deployment of the RIN, and serving as the primary contact for all cyber-related correspondence concerning the RIN and any computers linked to it.  Their duties also include aligning with the production/repair team to schedule maintenance interventions and restricting the disruption to routine repair activities. This coordination extends to test development teams to ensure that new advancements are in line with the cyber rules of the Orlando site.

Key Areas of Responsibility

CYBER safety

  • Safety applicable to the industrial means, defined by the RSSI, DSI and the specialists Cyber analyze rules of cyber. Check of feasibility (technical, functional) of stake in correspondence, participation in the analyses of solution with the teams Cyber, DSI and the teams of developments Benches. Flowdown of rules Cyber to the teams of maintenance, to the industrial operators and also to the designers of new means. Flow down in job standards for the teams developing or maintaining industrial equipment

MANAGEMENT of the SITE Test Benches

  • Establishment of site mapping and analysis of the risks with the specialist cyber for decision of remediation for industrial means. Organize and monitor the policy of protection and verifies the implementation (protection policy, backup and recovery).

BUILD

  • Schedule migration activities towards the RIN, taking into account business and operational priorities of its site. Upgrade every PC or workstation in accordance with cybersecurity rules. Migration of means to secure (RIN) according to defined standards and functional acceptance. Represent the operational need of the industry for the validation of the services with the IS / IT.

RUN


  • Keep industrial means (including PC) in operational condition ( MCO) and safety condition (MCS) for production / repair. Maintenance intervention on incident or support. Management and validation of the demands KISS for the perimeter PC means of production.

  • Interface with the specialists of IS and cyber. Coordinator of impact for the industry during interventions (MAJ switchs and waiters, network cut, remédiation cyber). Assure the support and users training for the new practices with industrial means.

PROCESS

  • Sharing of the know-how to the transverses teams (RSO network multi-sites) through documentations, of wiki or of technical procedures. Systems and networks expertize for maintenance and industrial teams. Purchase, installation and configuration of hardware supplies in accordance with the standards.

Minimum Qualifications


  • Excellent communication skills

  • 5 to 7+ years of experience in Network Administration / IT Support / System Administration

  • Effectively communicate at all levels within the Operations team (from Technicians to Vice Presidents).

  • Produce Summary reports on a regular basis utilizing standard office software.

  • Be an effective trouble-shooter, be able to identify and isolate PC’s that could be compromised.

  • Bachelor’s degree / Master’s in an associated field (e.g. Engineering or Cyber Security or Network Architect)
