Diagnose mold, material, process, equipment, and hot stamp problems and take corrective action.
Take action or make recommendations to optimize process/cycle time
Establish process for mold qualification (PPAP)
Ensure process is within specification limits, may correct or makes changes as necessary.
Analyze data from parts
Maintains records and files of process sheets, etc.
Runs sample part, analyze quality of part when necessary
Works with tooling, production, and technical staff to analyze problems.
Coordinates/conducts process training and testing for Oconee plant
Works random off shifts including weekends as necessary
Assists in special projects as assigned
May conduct process audits
Evaluate current processes and takes actions to optimize.
Participates in training to improve understanding of current processes and equipment
Complete Paulson and/or RIG training, and external training as required
Performs routine and special electrical, mechanical, and physical testing, precision measurements, design of experiments, and/or analyses using varied and complex testing equipment and/or measuring devices for the Injection Molding field.
Observes and records data, performs injection molding calculations, prepares and writes test reports and prepares simple data analyses.
Constructs, repairs, and operates electrical test equipment and/or calibrates measuring equipment. Assists supervisor on correcting or improving injection molding equipment or processes and establishing new techniques and /or processes.
Performs molding of samples and prototypes and other efforts in developmental and testing areas. Sets up and performs pilot runs on new/revised products/processes (PPAP’s, Systematic Molding)
Take active part in group meetings to maintain safety, quality, and increase productivity and morale
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED, (internal candidates proven experienced level 4 or higher) required.
Must have at least 2 years previous experience (or educational equivalent) with Injection molding processing, electrical and mechanical in a manufacturing environment
Basic understanding of PLCs, electrical schematics, robotic programs, hydraulics and pneumatics required
Two year technical degree, or related certificate program, preferred
Detailed understanding of injection molding machines, temperature control units, hotrunner controllers, basic automation and robotics preferred.
Must have a learner mentality – willing to increase scope and knowledge of the position and level up within the technician role
Strong team player
Excellent verbal communication skills
Performs other tasks as assigned
