Safe Harbor Marinas has two waterfront facilities in Kittery and Eliot, Maine that service, repair and store power and sailing vessels ranging from 18' to +50'. We are looking for an experienced equipment operator to join our team. The Equipment Operator is responsible for moving, hauling and launching all vessels on location. The successful candidate would be offered the opportunity to acquire additional skill sets within the boatyard and marina operations. Ability to operate power and sail vessels is preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operate heavy equipment including but not limited to: forklifts, travelifts, and hydraulic trailersBe able to operate machinery efficiently, effectively and demonstrate safe handling of vesselsInspect, maintain and repair equipment to ensure operationalPerform related tasks such as pressure washing, bottom painting, block and stand vessels, and general facilities maintenance, as needed

Safety and Environmental Responsibilities
Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related trainingWear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work areaReport all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately

Technical and Physical Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required2-3 years relevant experience preferredHeavy forklift experience and certification requiredAbility to ascend and descend a ladderAbility to work in all weather conditionsAbility to work in confined spacesAbility to lift 50 poundsBasic boat handling skills preferredMust possess a valid drivers license
