Position Overview

This position is responsible for working closely with the management team at assigned location(s) to maximize efficiencies of plant operations and implement process improvement projects. The Technical Services Project Manager troubleshoots and identifies process needs to maintain quality, reliability, production levels and ensures compliance with environmental, health and safety needs of team members. This position will also assists the business group with project planning and project management, including project scope generation, cost estimation, spending control and deadline management.

Key Responsibilities


  • Lead the development and creation of standard operating procedures for safety, quality and reliability.

  • Identify, scope, and lead projects at assigned location that are designed to minimize total cost, improve safety, quality and customer service.

  • Complete data analysis and identify optimization needs. Assist or lead in the development of detailed project scopes based upon project objectives. Develop reasonable and cost-effective cost estimates, as well as develop appropriate project schedules and capital requests.

  • Develop and maintain an appropriate level of knowledge of the applicable codes and regulations. Serve as a resource to management, supervisors and maintenance staff.

  • Develop appropriate project schedules and maintain current critical path/Gantt charts for each major project, routinely communicating the status with the customer.

  • Coordinate the development of layout and detail drawings needed for project management and ensure that all drawing is integrated into the Engineering Department's drawing library.

  • Evaluate and identify all equipment, materials and other resources required for physical completion of projects. Coordinate pertinent purchase with Sourcing and Procurement and project managers

  • Assist in operational/troubleshooting issues.

  • Seek out continuous improvement opportunities and provide recommendations to management. When appropriate, lead continuous improvement efforts.

  • Provides technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers

Minimum Qualifications & Skills


  • Bachelor's Degree required

  • 5-7 years' relevant experience required

Physical Requirements and Working Environment


  • Must be able to stand/sit for an extended period of time

  • Ability to work in plant and office environments

  • Working conditions could include: dust, fumes, moderate noise and uneven surfaces
