Insurance Intern at High Company LLC in Lancaster, Pennsylvania

Job Description:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Insurance Intern will assist the Senior Insurance Business Partner and the Legal Department with a variety of projects.  The Insurance Intern will work on the insurance premium audits and allocations.  Coordinate the gathering of information from different SBUs to complete the audit package.  Monitor vendor insurance certificate activity on MyCOI portals.  Document work process flows and procedures of certificate tracking.  Special projects include –


  • Sharepoint integration for insurance policies, vendor setup and insurance compliance

  • Update excel spreadsheets for insurance premium audit, allocations and budgeting

  • Coordinate obtaining lender letters from brokers for premiums paid

  • Contract review of insurance requirements (working with Contracts Paralegal)

  • Claims management support (working with Claims Senior Paralegal)

  • Update D&B report information of High companies

  • Update bond lists for open and closed bonds

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, TRAINING, AND/OR EDUCATION REQUIRED:


  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree with a major in Risk Management, Finance or related discipline.

  • Proficient in Microsoft applications; such as Excel, Sharepoint, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Attention to detail, flexibility, and good communication skills (both written and verbal) are essential

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:


  • Creating reports, flowcharts and/or dashboards for documenting processes and procedures

  • Required maturity and a high level of professionalism coupled with good interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Exposure to the different insurance lines of Property and Casualty coverage

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

The Insurance Intern reports to the Senior Insurance Business Partner.

  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment
