Job Description:

Responsible for performing operations related to the metal shaping, forming, and/or bending of material to produce a variety of either partially or completed metal products. May also include packaging products by either boxing and/or bundling a variety of parts into various sized containers or onto pallets. Tends fabricating machines such as presses, forming machines, spinning machines cutoff saws, shears, rolls, brakes, and punch presses that cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures by performing the following duties.

• Positions work piece against stops or aligns layout marks with die or blade.
• Pushes button or depresses pedal to activate machine.
• Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction.
• Measures work piece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.
• Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or work pieces.
• Rivets and spot welds work pieces.
• Other duties and projects as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

• Able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Able to walk long distances.
• Able to work at elevated heights.
• Able to lift 50 pounds.
