Job Title: Machine Operator & Assembler

Pay: $18/hr. Day Shift | $20/hr. Night Shift

Shift/Hours: 1st and 3rd | 12 hrs. | 2,2,3 schedule

• Day Shift: 6:35am – 6:45pm




• Night Shift: 6:35pm – 6:45am

What You Will Do

Under general supervision, function within specific guidelines to insure quality battery vent caps are manufactured, inspected, and packaged.  May be responsible for in-plant marking and transporting finished product.  Also responsible for transporting raw material, packaging materials and other in-process material handling requirements.

How You Will Do It

• Start and stop vent cap assembly machine or individual components (hot stamp, platelets, and assembly) and safely clear jams with specific tools.  Monitor and inspect incoming base, lid, and platelets to insure quality.




• Operate Hot Stamp machine by placing and removing lids on/from revolving table to product 100% acceptable hot stamped lids per Q.C. standards. Monitor and inspect automated hot stamp on B.I.C. tables. Place “We Care” sheet in each box of hot stamped lids.




• Constantly patrol and monitor work area, which includes several machines




• Conduct some “go/no go” gauging, several quality inspections, and sampling consistently throughout the shift and document on a regular basis.




• Responsible for initiating corrective action at any point within the operation when parts or processes are not conforming to customer or quality standards.




• Package cartons of vent caps from vent cap assembly machines, following proper piece count and documentation, and palletize per B.O.M.




• Keep work areas clean and orderly following 5S procedures




• Strictly adhere to all plant safety rules




• Take active part in group meetings to maintain safety, quality, and increase productivity and morale




• Performs other tasks as assigned

What We Look For

• High School Diploma or GED required




• At least 2 years previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred




• May require valid forklift license, or the willingness and ability to operate a forklift




• Strong team player




• Must be able to multi-task in a busy hands-on environment




• Excellent verbal communication skills
