Manufacturing Maintenance Manager at Clarios, LLC in WEST UNION, South Carolina

Job Description:

Job Summary

Maintains control of and fosters continuous improvement of Oconee plant maintenance functions including equipment, camera and security systems, facilities (manage through third party), and stock base support.  Provides analysis, counsel, advice and recommendations and leads actions for improvement in maintenance key performance indicators.

Responsibilities and Duties


  • Supports and Directs plant TPM initiatives to improve equipment uptime.

  • Plans and Directs all maintenance activities with Power Frame maintenance team

  • Provides the direction of maintenance activities in the Poly operations with support from the Maintenance Supervisor

  • Leads and directs the plant's preventative and corrective maintenance activities to allow for efficient operations.

  • Understands functions of Facilities Support Equipment Critical to operations – Air Compressors, Electrical Infrastructure, Cooling Towers, Chillers, etc

  • Analyzes production equipment to prevent costs associated with unexpected machine downtime and to identify opportunities for improvements.

  • Assists senior management with plant improvements and expansions.

  • Establishes and maintains effective maintenance procedures, including planning, scheduling, material support and analysis of cost and performance.  Regularly reviews maintenance methods, manpower utilization, materials and equipment for potential improvements and cost savings.

  • Directs preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment and facility failures.

  • Manages team for corrective/call maintenance

  • Develops and assures implementation of a sound maintenance skills training program and/or apprenticeship program as appropriate.

  • Provides technical support and staff coordination of maintenance related items. 

  • Coordinates with external Facilities Management on all outside maintenance and construction activities.

  • Responsible for Maintenance KPIs and reporting for two manufacturing operations,  Downtime, MTBF, MTTR, OEE, PM Compliance, PM Completion

  • Reviews proposals for new equipment, tools and facilities and plans for installation.  Assists in preparation, justification and review of appropriation requests, layout and equipment changes.

  • Establishes standard procedures for operation of all utility facilities and maintains adequate operating records.

  • Assists in compliance to pertinent OSHA and EPA regulations.

  • Directs stock base and maintenance purchasing operations.

Qualifications


  • Bachelors in technical field preferred. (Experience may be considered in lieu of degree), or 2 year Technical Degree and Experience combined may be considered in lieu of 4 year degree.

  • 6+ years of Maintenance Management experience in a manufacturing facility

  • Strong PLC experience to include troubleshooting and familiarity with programming

  • Maintenance experience required on electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting

  • HMI experience preferred

  • TPM implementation experience preferred

  • Experience with SAP and Maximo systems preferred

  • Experience with OSHA 14000, 18000 and TS audit standards.

  • Computer skills with Maintenance Planning, Microsoft Office, etc.

  • Good verbal & written communication skills
