Our Automotive Systems Division office in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan has an opening for a passionate and creative Acoustic Systems Engineer. Help us customize the future of automotive sound by joining our team!

About the Job

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:


  • Help craft the in-vehicle listening experience with our unrivaled experience and knowledge of vehicle acoustics, psychoacoustics, audio amplifiers, transducers, and DSP based algorithms.

  • Responsible for developing, optimizing & calibrating the high-performance Bose Audio systems of the future.

  • Embrace the Kaizen spirit and advancing Bose technology by developing new and creative audio System solutions.

  • Advanced problem solving and customer interaction are part of a typical day's work. The end result is an exciting "WOW" experience for our customers and a great sense of personal satisfaction.

  • Develop new and exciting concept audio systems.

About You

Must have the following skills, abilities, and knowledge :


  • Strong passion and drive to succeed

  • Solid understanding of Acoustics and Psychoacoustics theory

  • Highly proficient in the use of MATLAB with script writing knowledge

  • Basic understanding of acoustic transducers (microphones and speakers)

  • Understanding of basic DSP theory

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills

  • Ability & willingness to learn and quickly apply new ideas

  • Basic understanding of test and measurement equipment including National Instruments, LMS or Head Acoustics

  • Flexibility to travel (both domestic and international)

  • Position involves driving prototype vehicles to evaluate& verify system performance; avalid driver's license is requiredalong with a clean driving record.

  • Experience in system design & integration with automotive electronics, and electronic control modules is desired

  • Background in software and coding (C, MATLAB, and Python) is preferred, as there are opportunities to customize and modify internal software tuning tools and scripts.

Qualifications:


  • 3 + years of relevant industry experience required (mid-level) (or 1+ year co-op/intern/relevant experience for entry level)

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent degree with an emphasis on Audio Engineering or DSP

  • Master of Science in Engineering or equivalent is preferred.
